Saturday 23 August 1975: Arles

finished reading M. de la Ferté and read Le Quai des Brumes by Pierre Mac Orlan. Also spent two hours writing ten-page letter to mum & dad. Life here either all work or absolutely nothing to do. I’m appreciating time though as Camus suggests. Tonight we went to a fête in the centre of town.
